Anne Lamott’s Shitty First Drafts basically explains how she and other writers don’t just sit down and write really well on their first drafts. I think she is trying to give up and coming writers some motivation if they’re having trouble writing their drafts. It kind of gave me some motivation too because sometimes I get stuck while im writing and I feel like everyone isne having the same problems im having. But after reading this Im not going to stress myself if my work isn’t as good as I need it to be because all that does is give me more to work with when I decide to revise my paper and make it better. Anne Lamott tells us that there are lots of writers who write shitty first drafts and after lots of revisions, they become really good books. I feel like this was a really good piece of writing to read early on in the semester because there are a lot of students who go into English classes and are nervous or uncomfortable about how much writing there is to do in college. But this piece of writing kind of eases those feelings for anyone who reads it
